Gut Feelings brings healthy, gut-friendly, low FODMAP meals to Eastern Canadians suffering from IBS and other gut-wrenching issues.

When first meeting with Miranda and the rest of the small but mighty Gut Feelings team, they were planning the launch of their full pre-made, delivery food program and were full of excitement and even more ideas. I was tasked with the design of their Shopify store and to help develop their brand further.

It was a top priority to create joyful moments that aligned with their quirky brand while still communicating their unique offering. Keeping it short and sweet allowed the products to shine through and give emphasis on their build-your-own-box subscription model.

We included cute illustrations that complimented the short, succinct copy and introduced a new heading typeface to the brand to create emphasis and hold its own alongside the bright colour palette. Ultimately, the visual design choices create an online experience that grab attentions and adds a fun-factor to the not-so-fun topic of food-induced tummy troubles.

It’s fundamental to have a quick and easy mobile experience — so we ensured that their customers could painlessly browse, purchase, create and update their subscription boxes from the palm of their hand.

The experience is considered across mobile and desktop to make the flow as straight forward as possible. Customers are able to browse from the long list of meals without having to enter the build-a-box flow, which is an added benefit for people outside of the delivery service area so as Gut Feelings grows and expands to their area, they can browse and gain interest in the meantime.

The custom build-a-box and subscription purchase flow offers customers a streamlined approach to selecting the meals they want at the cadence that works best for them.

Using ReCharge, we created a 4-step flow for new customers to select the size of box, exact meals they’d like, and the number and cadence of recurring deliveries before checking out. The Gut Feelings brand is woven throughout this flow as well, creating a fully immersive and consistent experience with the rest of their store that’s streamlined on both desktop and mobile.
